Welcome to the Kalkaska County Accounting Department



The Kalkaska County Accounting Department is staffed by the County Controller, Tracy Nichol and the Accounting Clerk, Julie Naasko. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. till 5 P.M. eastern standard time.

Responsible for all accounting functions, i.e. general ledger, financial reports, bi-weekly payroll, central purchasing, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, GASB34 compliance for the county. Personnel files are also maintained in this office.

Responsible for assisting the controller with majority of accounting functions for county. Secretarial duties for Board of Commissioners including compiling packet for monthly meeting, agendas, scheduling appointments for committees and BOC meeting.

Board of Commissioner Appointment

Due to the resignation of the District # 3 Kalkaska County Board of Commissioner, the Board of Commissioners are accepting applications of individuals who reside in Bear Lake, Blue Lake, Excelsior and Oliver Townships, are a U.S. Citizen and at least 18 years of age.  Those interested would be expected to attend numerous committee meetings throughout the month and at least one Board of Commissioner meeting per month.   Appointed candidate would receive a monthly salary and reimbursement for committee meetings attended.  Deadline for applications is Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 3:00 pm.  Interested candidates must be able to attend a Special Board Meeting on Monday, February 13th, 2012 at 5:00 pm for an interview by the Board of Commissioners.  Applications are available at the Accounting Office, Room 102, located in the County Administration Building at 605 N Birch Street, Kalkaska, MI and also online at the county website at www.kalkaskacounty.net.>county government>county departments>accounting page. SEE BELOW FOR APPLICATION.

 

 REGISTER OF DEEDS OFFICE

Immediate need for part time Office Clerk with Kalkaska County Register of Deeds department. Attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and being adaptable will be keys to success in this position. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.
