THE BOOKMOBILE WILL RESUME ITS WEEKLY SCHEDULED STOPS AFTER MEMORIAL DAY 2008. The Bookmobile is the library's main outreach tool, and serves Kalkaska County's townships during the summer (roughly Memorial Day - Labor Day). The bookmobile serves area homebound patrons year-round, goes to Crawford School weekly during the school year, and is also the library's ambassador-at-large and may be seen in many local parades and community events, such as the American Cancer Society's Walk-For-Life and the Commission On Aging's Annual Picnic.
Many regular library services are available through the bookmobile. If you don't have a library card you can get one through the bookmobile, you can put reserves on titles, request titles to be brought out to the stop nearest you, renew books, and return library books to the bookmobile that were checked out at the library. Bookmobile books are due back in two weeks, and may also be dropped off in town.
