Kalkaska County has received and benefited from several emergency services grants. These grants are used to train and purchase equipment for Kalkaska County first responders - Police, Fire and EMS. As a result, these grants benefit us all.

For example, two Fire Departments have received Thermal Imaging Cameras. These devices allow a Fire Fighter to see areas of heat buildup that would be invisible to the naked eye. Hot spots in chimneys, or overheated wiring can be detected, inside a wall. These grants have also paid for equipment for the Kalkaska ambulance service as well as Law Enforcement.
