Due to the closing of the LEADER & KALKASKIAN newpaper, the Kalkaska County Notice of Show Cause hearing and Judicial Foreclosure Hearing for non-payment of property taxes will be published on this website in December, 2015 and the NORTHWEST VOICE or the THE KALKASKA REVIEW.
Township Treasurers collect the current year tax through February of the next year.
Summer tax mailed to taxpayer in June, due without penalty to the Township Treasurer by September 14th. If the 14th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next business day.
Winter tax mailed to taxpayer in December, due without penalty to the Township Treasurer by February 14th. If the 14th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next business day.
If your property tax is not paid by due date check with your Township Treasurer for balance owing, Township Treasurers collect the current year tax through February.
On March 1st of the following tax year, the Township Treasurer's turn over all unpaid property taxes to the County Treasurer for collection. Contact the County Treasurer for your payoff amount after March 1, 2015 on any delinquent 2014 tax and prior years.
