DELINQUENT TAXES
We now accept full or partial payments on Delinquent Taxes by credit or debit card during office hours (either stop in or call (231-258-3310).  You may also pay online at https://www.govpaynow.com/gps/user/plc/8167. Please note there is a 3.5% fee by government payment services on amount being paid (to use a Visa Debit Card, the fee is a flat rate of $3.95).  You may also call government payment services direct twenty-four hours a day 1-888-604-7888 (fee for pay-by-phone is 5% of amount being paid).  Please have the pay location code/PLC for Kalkaska County Treasurer Property Taxes of 8167 available for pay-by-phone services.

Township Treasurers collect the current year tax through February of the next year.  

Summer tax mailed to taxpayer in June, due without penalty to the Township Treasurer by September 14th.  If the 14th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next business day.

Winter tax mailed to taxpayer in December, due without penalty to the Township Treasurer by February 14th. If the 14th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date is the next business day.

If your property tax is not paid by due date check with your Township Treasurer for balance owing, Township Treasurers collect the current year tax through February. 

On March 1st of the following tax year, the Township Treasurer's turn over all unpaid property taxes to the County Treasurer for collection. Contact the County Treasurer for your payoff amount after March 1, 2015 on any delinquent 2014 tax and prior years.
