*Navy Expeditionary Medal -- The Department of Defense advises that a Navy Expeditionary Medal has been authorized for Navy personnel for Cuba service January 3, 1961 to October 23, 1962; and Marine personnel serving in Thailand May 16, 1962 to August 10, 1962. Naval personnel attached to the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force serving ashore in Thailand at the same time are eligible to the Navy Expeditionary Medal.
