The Memorial is sponsored by Kalkaska American Legion Post 480 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154
What is the Michigan Vietnam Veteran Traveling Memorial ?
It is a Memorial to the Men and Women from Michigan who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. It is a message saying "We Will Not Forget" those who did not come home from Southeast Asia and are listed as a Prisoner of War or Missing in Action. It is a place for those who have served to come together in remembrance of their fellow Soldier, Marine, Seaman, Airman, and Coast Guardsman. It is a place to honor those who have received the Flag as the words "on behalf of a proud and grateful nation," have been spoken.

1:00 p.m. Escort expected to arrive at Railroad Square in Kalkaska, MI
5:00 p.m. Opening Ceremony at Railroad Square Pavilion:
~ Welcome and opening remarks
~ Reading of the names every hour of those from Michigan still MIA with Tolling of the Bell – assisted by Kalkaska Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop
7:00 p.m. Taps. Memorial closes to the public.

7:00 a.m. Memorial opens to the public.
~ The Traverse City VA Mobile Vet Center will be on-site to provide information / counseling
~ The Kalkaska County Dept. of Veterans Affairs office will be on-site
to provide information and answer questions.
~ Reading of the names every hour of those from Michigan still MIA
